A Versatile Riojan Red Fine with Traditional Pork Chops

We had a midweek meal of Pork Chops in gravy with potatoes and green beans and decided on a bottle of Campo Viejo Rioja Crianza 2008 from Costco. This Spanish red blended from Tempranillo and Garnacha is such an easy drinking wine and is versatile with food. (see 28th September 2011 and 11th June 2011).  The red fruits, with a tinge of of savoury spiciness were fine with the simple flavours of the meal.
