We finished off Teresa’s Beef Stew from the previous evening and tried another Portuguese red, this time from Waitrose – Tinto da Anforo Alentenjano 2008, made from a blend of six grape varieties, including Trincadeira, Aragonez and Castelão. A 14% wine, yet medium-bodied. It had a jammy nose and we tasted blackberries and black cherries, with a sharp but not unpleasant finish. A reasonably good match.
