We visited Lake Annecy for a long weekend with our daughter and son-in-law. While we were there we were able to sample some of the local restaurants and cuisine and on one evening we ate al fresco in Annecy at the Restaurant L’Etage in Rue du Pâquier.
We chose the Menu à 35€ and my wife and I had the Foie Gras Maison to start, which was delicately-flavoured and enjoyable. Our son-in-law started with Assiette de Viande Séchée de Montagne – a well-presented platter of cured meats from the mountains.
For mains threee of us chose the Pavé de Boeuf avec Sauce au Poivre, which is rump steak cut like a fillet and served with a creamy peppercorn sauce. This was tender enough, but lacked flavour. Our son-in-law went for Gambas Flambées au Cognac (King Prawns Flambéed in Brandy) served with rice, which he enjoyed.
