We had plain Roast Pork for a change. We tend to avoid eating it with apple sauce because it limits the choice of wine. We went for a bottle of Oromonte Garnacha 2008 from the Sunday Times Wine Club. This is a medium-bodied Spanish red and according to the Wine Club it is rich and velvety, with ripe bramble and strawberry aromas. The oak ageing gives the wine a delicious touch of vanilla. Apparently it’s superb with roast lamb. We found it paired well with the pork.
