We finished off the left over Lasagne. (See 2 April). Never quite as good though the next day. We decided on another Italian red from Sunday Times Wine Club. This time Pilastro Primitivo 2008 from Puglia and one of our favourites. Sunday Times say “one sip and you’ll be hooked” and I have to agree. I had one sip before starting the meal and thought this was such a juicy gluggable wine that would be very enjoyable on its own. Sunday Times recommend it with lasagne and it did go quite well, but not as well as I would have expected. A good match usually enhances the taste of both food and wine, but not in this case.
