We had our daughter and her husband around for a meal and enjoyed a very good Roast Leg of Lamb from Tesco. We opened a bottle of Palacio de Verano Rioja 2008, followed by a Talking Heads Shiraz/Cabernet 2010 that our daughter had brought with her. Both the wines are from Sunday Times Wine Club. The first one was a Spanish red, 100% Tempranillo with smooth, red fruits and vanilla. We all thought it was a fine match with the lamb. The second bottle was a red from Australia. Fruit-rich and ripe. Not as subtle as the Rioja, but very easy to drink with the lamb.
