We finished off the rest of the supposedly Mild Lamb Curry from the previous evening. After reheating the lamb became further imbued with the flavours of the chillies and spices and the taste of the yogurt gravy was similarly intensified. We hit upon a wine match that really had the wow factor for us. We opened a bottle of The Optimist Old Vine Semillon 2009 from the Sunday Times Wine Club and it was much better than any of the pairings from yesterday (see 10th December). This delicious Australian white had citrus, tropical flavours with a delightful creamy, melon tanginess. Superb!
