We tried the Steak & Ale Pie recipe from the BBC Food website. However, we used a can of Hobgoblin rather than the brown ale in the recipe.
We opened a bottle of The Hundred Cabernet Sauvignon Coonawarra Reserve 2011, a full bodied Australian red from the Sunday Times Wine Club. We enjoyed the flavours of blackcurrants and cassis with a sweet spiciness. We thought this was a very good match with the pie.
